The Cozzens Reunion

Aiden on the zip line
There he goes!!  We had Kara waiting nearby in the boat in case he needed rescued.
And he's in the water.  Bravest 7 year old I know :)

Aiden, Chase and their new friend, Alora on the slip 'N slide

Capri riding a toy tractor.  The 2.5 seconds she wasn't on the slip 'n slide

There she goes!!!  And look at that smile.

Big splash at the end :)

And at the top, too, apparently.

Ooops, she got a little upside down for a minute.

It was a HUGE slip 'N slide.  And she slid down the thing over and over.  All day long.

Another upside down moment.

Since I was in charge of making sure "Capri doesn't drown"  I got a lot of pictures of her :)
Drew on the zip line

Mid air arabesque

Kimbrey loved the paddle boat.  And the kids loved rowing the water boats.  There was something for everyone.

Kimbrey's turn on the zip line

And she's flying!!
SPLASH!!
Daniel, Chase and Aiden on the slip 'N slide
They made it to the bottom with their sled still under them.  Quite a feat!
Daniel on the zip line
Looking good!
And he's just about to drop
Chase and Bridger
Charlie stuck to playing in the water at the bottom

We had a really good time!!  There was something for everyone, and no one was bored for a minute!  Cozzens Family Reunion fun!!

Our Family Home Evenings

We have such interesting Family Home Evenings now that Jill and Kenny have moved back.  Tonight we went to Moonflower Canyon for a picnic.
Here I'm  just sittin' back enjoying the great spring weather and beautiful view at Indian Ladder.  Those little black stumpy things are my shoes BTW.
Aiden and Jill.  Momma and son. Exploring the rock caves.
Capri wanted Aiden to push her in the stroller.  This did not end well, by the way.
Spider Monkey.  And, I'm loving that background!!
                                                           Hey, a jumping Spider Monkey
Cute Capri hiking in her little pink flip flops.
Here Dave and Kenny are discussing an aluminum beer can Kenny found in the back of Dave's truck. Yeah, don't ask.  Just a normal FHE here in Moab.

The Cozzens Cousins

A few weeks ago Kyle, Michelle and their boys got to come for a visit.  It was a sad reason to visit - Michelle's grandfather passed away and they came for his funeral.  But we managed to sneak in a few minutes of fun here and there.
These boys are SO creative.  Here they are retrieving Aiden's shoes without ever stepping foot off the tramp
And here, Porter is getting the best of Aiden in Cousin's Tramp Wrestling.  Do you know how hard it is to type out cousin's when your name is Cozzens?
I absolutely adore cute baby Ford's nose scrunch.  Isn't he just the cutest?!!

Randomness

Aiden's first soccer game of the year.  It was getting dark and my camera was maxed out at 3200 iso, so a little blurry, but some great action going on here.  He blocked the goal!!

Getting ready to kick-off.  I finally just had to put my camera away.  It got too dark :(

Today's action shots  were a little better - I was only at 800 iso and I had my 50 mm lens, so I could open my aperture to f/1.4

I'm still frustrated with focus.  She's holding still here, and she's blurry.  Cute, but blurry

Saturday Hike to Delicate Arch and A Photography Assignment

Jill had a precious Saturday off from the hospital, and I had a white balance photography assignment due, so we headed to Arches for a hike to Delicate Arch
These pictures are in no  particular order, so this is Jill, and Dave carrying Capri on his shoulders, on the way back from the arch.
Jill and Capri under Delicate Arch
We hiked down into the bowl, which was quite a feat, and played around under the arch for a while.
Aiden and I hiked back down much faster than the rest, mostly due to the fact that Capri wanted to play in every bit of sand we crossed, so he played in the wet sand by the scummy little pond below the bridge while we waited for the Mom with the car keys.
These photos were part of my assignment.  The photo above was taken with a custom white balance I set using a gray card.  Aiden was trying to start a fire by rubbing two rocks together.
This was a preset white balance called Color Temperature Enhancement.  It is supposed to enhance color casts instead of trying to eliminate them.  Not bad, but I still like the custom white balance better.
Aiden has pretty much had it with being my photography assignment subject.  I had to sneak this photo in, and, in my hurry, got the arch in focus and Aiden blurred.  But this is Aiden and Delicate Arch looking through the little window arch just before you turn the corner and Delicate Arch, in all it's beautiful glory, comes into view.  Fun hike, gorgeous scenery, and great company made for a really good day.
